Visual Art

Jeyd – The Orchard – Graff Art After Jeyd’s much admired graff art piece from last year “the humming bird on the heart/tree”, at this year’s event the artist will create a landscape that depicts the sterile, energy guzzling practices of corporate farming alongside age old methods of spreading seed. Born and raised in Los Angeles Jeyd began painting at an early age and began her Graffiti journey in the early 90's. Jeyd uses influences drawn from various indigenous cultures (going back to her own South American roots). Her paintings show the struggle of spiritual beings and corporate strong holds wrestling to gain control. Nature and machinery struggle for dominance, the fight for control over the earth and all of its natural unseen realms. Having a connection to earth and all of its wonders Jeyd tries to convey messages of hope and inspiration in her paintings to viewers who may be consumed by mainstream media. Jeyd.net

Duce – Under Stairway Near Kids Area – Graff Art So many viewers have been stunned by the beauty of Duce’s mother earth painted at last year’s event; this year he returns to EDSLA to create a tribute to Nikola Tesla, the inventor of the AC current and a man much maligned by the mainstream.

Heng – The Orchard – Graff Art An artist new to this event, Heng will create a grey urban cityscape being magically transformed by the tree of life into a place of color and vitality. Hengone.com

City Year – Wall Next to Normandie Cougars - Kids Interactive Mural Once again City Year staff will demonstrate their gift of working with kids to create wonderful murals that bring life to the school campus.

City Year – Walls Behind CSU/Nor Urban Farm – Mural/Signage Thanks to City Year, at last we at CSU will get our longed for desire of signage and art, at our on site urban farm. CityYear.org
