Programs

CSU's programs make up the Community Food Village Project and have been developed in direct response to the needs expressed by community members during the A.C.T.I.O.N. (Active Community to Improve Our Nutrition) community food assessment that was completed in January 2004.

Together our programs work to create a sustainable local food system where food is grown, distributed and bought within our own community, incorporating training and educational programs, the creation of jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities and supported by partnerships with regional farmers.

Understanding that their are unjust and destructive systems that have created the social and environmental injustices that impact our community, the Community Food Village project is responding with a similar systems approach to building awareness, leadership and positive change. All of the project activities are intertwined and are implemented in partnership with individuals and organizations in the community
