Monique Mitchell is an interdisciplinary artist from
South Central whose writing has been featured in
The New York Times and A24’s companion book for
Everything Everywhere All At Once. She has taught
and performed at institutions including: The Getty,
The Hammer Museum, MOCA, LACMA, and more.
Monique will guide us in transforming the written
word into visual art by creating blackout poetry
from existing texts, uncovering new meaning through
selection, erasure, and juxtaposition.
