If you or someone you know needs help purchasing food, want to know if you are eligible for CalFresh benefits, or are ready to submit an application, CSU can help! We encourage persons to apply if you have an eligible child that is receiving P-EBT, are a senior receiving SSI, are unemployed or have reduced income, are currently reliant on food donations, or if you are a college student. Our staff are able to determine if you’re eligible, prepare and submit your application, track the status of pending applications, and assist with appeals. If you already have CalFresh, our staff may assist you with any SAR-7s and recertification.
Email Calfresh@csuinc.org or Call 213-746-1216 to set up an appointment TODAY!
CSU’s CalFresh Outreach and Application assistance program makes it easier for people to apply by providing a confidential and encouraging space. Our friendly staff works around your schedule, addresses any concerns you have about applying, and advocates for critical anti-hunger policies. We educate potentially eligible residents, and the agencies that serve them, about the CalFresh program and work with the eligible residents to submit their applications. We partner with schools, clinics, churches, affordable housing, and community agencies to educate and enroll as many eligible residents. We aim to enroll the remaining 35% of LA residents that are eligible for CalFresh food benefits but do not apply due to personal barriers. CalFresh provides people with more spending power to buy food, and brings dollars into our community when CalFresh benefits are spent. Individuals who want to apply can contact CSU directly. Agencies interested in partnering email CalFresh@csuinc.org.
