This month we’ll focus on building healthier soil through composting and preparing Fire Cider using fresh herbs and seasonal ingredients.

Gardening Topic – Building Healthy Soil & Composting.

During this workshop, we’ll explore how composting can improve soil while reducing organic waste. We’ll discuss what goes into a compost system, how to manage moisture and airflow, how to recognize finished compost, and ways to use it in your garden. We will share techniques that can be adapted for backyards, raised beds, containers, and other growing spaces.

Nutrition/Cooking Topic – Fire Cider: Cold Season Herbs & Fresh Foods for Health

Our nutrition session will focus on preparing Fire Cider, a flavorful vinegar-based infusion using fresh herbs, roots, peppers, and other seasonal ingredients. We’ll demonstrate how to prepare and combine the ingredients and discuss different ways the finished infusion can be used in the kitchen.
